My places and favorites
Save places, mark favorites and track points.
Mark geocaches as favorites
You can mark the geocache as a favorite by tapping on the heart icon in the header of your geocache data page; you can remove it from your favorites by switching it on again. You can find your favorites on the "Favorites" page of the main menu.
You can search with the magnifier of the favorites list, you can sort by name or distance in the sorting menu. A line opens the geocache data sheet. Marking as a favorite does not mean that it has been found and does not automatically turn on proximity notifications.
To show only your favorites on the map, turn on the "Only favorites" filter on the "Places → Geoládák" tab. The other geocache filters will still be in effect.
Adding a new own location
Access: main menu → “My places” → top add button. Give the place a name, a description and coordinates as required, then save it. In addition to your available location, you can also fill in your current position.
You can add your own location directly on the map:
- Long press the desired point on the map. The app places a temporary marker.
- Tap the temporary marker to open the data window.
- Select "Save as my place". The coordinates of the selected point are already available.
- Enter a name and a description as required, then save.
- You can find the saved location on the "My places" page of the main menu.
Marking a temporary point alone does not save the location; for this, the save must also be performed. You can also right-click to select a point in a desktop browser.
You can also drag the temporary marker to another location. Tap on it again in its new location: you can start navigation to it from the data window or add it to the route plan. When planning, you can add the new position of the marker as a new route point after each drag, so you can add several consecutive targets with the same temporary marker. You don't need to save every destination as your own location for this.
Scanning a FIT file containing only points can also create your own locations.
Your own place is an independent personal point. If you want to record a point or password part of a specific geocache, use the "Points" tab of the geocache.
Find, modify and export your own locations
You can search the list "My places" and sort by name or distance. By tapping on a place, after confirmation, you can set the map to the position of the place. This can also turn off tracking of your own location.
You can change or delete the data in the menu of the row of the given location. Export offers "GPX (waypoint)" or "FIT (Garmin)" format. Exporting the location provides point data; it does not plan a route for it by itself. To delete, the app asks for confirmation.
The cloud saving of your own locations can also be managed in the manual saving of the Profile and between the switches of "Automatic backup".
Add a monitored point
It can give a notification when the monitored point is approached. To create it, open the map data window of a supported point and select the action "Watch". You can also specify the area of the notification in the distance field that appears when adding.
You can find the monitored points on the "Watched Points" page of the main menu. Enable monitoring with the "Proximity notifications" switch. Adding a point and turning on notifications are two separate steps.
Monitored distance per point and list management
On the "Watched Points" page, the list can be sorted by name or distance. By tapping on a point on the map, you can open its location. In the point menu, "Edit" changes the notification radius of that point, and deleting removes the monitored point.
The radius per point can be specified between 10 and 1000 meters. The global default is controlled by “Settings → Alerts → Watched points default alert distance”. You can manage the own value specified at the point separately.
With the upper delete operation, you can remove all monitored points; this requires confirmation. Deleting a monitored point does not delete the original geocache or location.
Conditions for proximity notifications
Monitoring requires location data, background location access for operation in the background, and appropriate system permission for notification. The notification sound can be selected on "Settings → Alerts".
New notifications are not continuously received from the same point: the application takes at least a ten-minute break between signals at each point. The inaccuracy of the GPS can also affect when it detects entry into the set area.
Having background monitoring on uses location even when the screen is locked, so it can increase battery usage. The app updates sparingly: it requests no new position while you are standing still, and on Android at most every 10 seconds, so a notification may arrive a few seconds later. You can check its status at the top of the page "Settings → Alerts".
Save the current position, for example as a parking lot
If you are standing at the place you would like to save, tap on the marker of your own position on the map. In the data window, select "Save as my place", enter a name - for example "Parking" - and save.
The coordinate is saved from your own location, so first check if your GPS position is correct. Later, you can open the saved point on the map from the "My places" list, and use its "Navigation" action to start towards it. For this, you do not need to place a temporary marker first.
