Tracks and recording
Import, tour catalog and record your own route.
Structure of the trail collection
Access: main menu → "Tracks". The page "GPX" shows the imported, "My Track" the recorded trails, and "Catalog" the offered tours. Lists can be searched and sorted by name or distance.
The lower "Track" tab of the main page shows the details of the currently loaded track. Stored tracks are selected from the list in the main menu.
Import GPX and KML files
- On the "Tracks" page, go to the "GPX" or "My Track" tab and open the top right menu.
- In the GPX block, select the action "Import file".
- Choose
.gpxor.kmlfile in your device's file chooser. - After a successful scan, enter the backup data and save the track.
- If you want to see it immediately on the map, accept the loading.
In case of an invalid or unsupported format, the app displays an error. Import takes the data in the file; missing elevation or detailed pavement data should not be automatically assumed to be available.
Import FIT course
There is a separate option "Import file" in the FIT block of the top menu of "Tracks". The function reads FIT course data. If the file contains an actual trackline, it can be saved as a trackline.
If the FIT contains only points, the app will import the points into "My places" and indicate the number of places taken. Therefore, after the file containing points, check the page "My places". Extending an arbitrary FIT file does not in itself guarantee supported content.
Select a tour from the catalog
Access: "Tracks → Catalog". By tapping on the desired tour, the app offers to download and then load the trail if necessary. Content not yet downloaded requires an internet connection.
The option "Info page" of the menu of the catalog item handles the tour information, "Download/Refresh" handles the download of the trail data. A link to the tour website can also be opened for details. You can update the entire catalog list using the "Refresh" action in the top menu.
Clearing the downloaded catalog data removes the local download; it does not delete the external tour.
Load and view data
By tapping on the row of the saved track and then confirming the loading, the line will appear on the map. On the bottom tab "Track" you can read the name, description, length, rise and fall, as well as the height profile, if the data is available.
In the "Track" section of the map layer selector, the display of the line, points, height profile and "Section info" can be switched separately. Detailed coloring is only available with appropriate additional data.
You can also follow the appropriate point of the road on the map by dragging along the curve of the altitude profile that is activated on the map. You can zoom horizontally on the chart with two fingers, then drag the lower distance axis bar to move the zoomed view. The profile embedded in the data page can also be enlarged, but drawing the curve there does not select a map point. Details: the Map chapter TERKEP-13 topic.
Waypoints and Garmin point types
With a loaded trail, you can add the point to the trail with the "Trail +" action from the data window of a map location. If the point is already added, "Delete" may appear in the same place. In the point list of the lower "Track" tab, the row of the added point can be deleted by dragging it to the left, where the interface allows. The imported file's own points may not offer such a delete operation.
The Garmin Points toggle displays additional point type settings. The type can be set to automatic or changed to one of the selectable categories. This helps define the meaning of the point passed to the compatible file.
Modify, export, remove and delete
In the "Tracks" list, you can change the name and description with the "Modify" action in the menu of the given item. "Export" offers GPX or "FIT (Garmin)" format; At FIT, it is also necessary to choose a type of sport. The loaded track can also be exported using the top share icon in the bottom tab "Track".
Removing a loaded track from the map is available on the bottom tab "Track" and does not delete the saved copy. You can initiate the deletion of the saved data in the item menu of the "Tracks" list of the main menu, by confirming.
Combining multiple tracks
In the top menu of "Tracks", select "Merge mode". Select the tracks to be combined in the list, then use the "Merge selected" action and enter the save data of the result.
Combing processes existing track data. It is not the same as the fact that the route planner calculates a new, walkable connecting road between the selected trails. Check the result on the map.
From the overlapping view, you can return to normal list management with the option "List mode" in the top menu.
Start recording and conditions
Access: main page → lower "Record" tab. Press and hold the red recording icon for about two seconds. A short tap does not start recording.
Recording requires a working location. In a native application, background positioning is required to start; if this fails, the app indicates that the recording has not started. Check the location permission in the phone's system settings, especially for use in the background and with the screen locked.
Pause, continue, stop
The recording controls work with a long press. When recording is running, a long press on the pause icon pauses it. When paused, long press the green play icon to resume, long press the red stop icon to end the recording.
It can only be stopped from a paused state. The process is therefore: start recording → pause → stop → save, or resume after pausing.
The "Record" page shows the time, distance, average speed of the entire recording and the current section, as well as the data of previous sections.
Save and restore a fixed route
A save window opens upon shutdown. Enter a name and a description as required, then confirm the save. The default name contains a date. The saved recording is added to the "Tracks → My Track" list.
Selecting "Cancel" in the save window means discarding the recording without saving and deleting the recorded points. If you want to keep the recording, confirm the save.
If the app finds data from a previous, remaining recording, it can offer to reload it and continue the recording. This is not a substitute for consciously saving completed recordings.
Recording settings
Access: "Settings → Track recording" or the settings button on the "Record" page. "Minimum update distance" sets the distance filter used for recording. "Optimize recorded track" saves long, nearly straight sections with fewer points: it gives a smaller file, but the saved points may be further apart.
"Accept old GPS data" will help you start faster until a fresh position arrives. The old starting data and the latest measurement may differ; it is worth checking the beginning of the recording.
Open a GPX or FIT file from another application
The native Geoládák app can also handle importing GPX and FIT files passed by the device. Select the file in the file manager, and if the device offers it, choose Geoládák for the "Open with" option. For a file with a trace, the app will redirect you to "Tracks" where you can finish scanning and saving. In the case of a points-only FIT, the points go directly to "My places", the NYOMVONAL-03 as described in the topic.
The available application selector and the recognizability of the transferred file depend on the system and the sending app. If Geoládák does not appear or the file does not open, use "Tracks → Import file". You can read KML with the in-app GPX/KML file selector; we do not promise the above system-side route for KML.
Transfer route to watch, bicycle GPS or other application
By exporting the saved or loaded trail, the tour can be used on another compatible device or application. The route plan can also be exported for the same purpose.
- Enter the desired trail or route plan and check it on the map.
- If you also want to convey important points, add them to the trail or plan. In the Garmin point settings, choose a point type as needed.
- At the share icon, choose GPX or "FIT (Garmin)" export. In the case of FIT, also select the sport type.
- Save or share the file and import it in the receiving device's own application according to its instructions.
Creates file Geoládák; uploading to the watch and navigating there is handled by the receiving system. The appearance of point names, point types and proximity signals depends on the device, export alone does not guarantee a notification on the watch. You can also pass the GPX file to a tour logger or route display application if it supports its import.
